Let me preface by saying

Let me preface by saying I’m a knife newbie. So take my opinions with a grain of salt.

I recently purchased a Civivi Imperium (Damascus/micarta). Nice little knife. But nothing amazing about it. I do like that it has a very small/thin profile and is light. But maybe a bit too small profile. Great for EDC.

I’m not sure where I saw the Banshee. (Prob YouTube). But I was immediately intrigued. Pretty much the opposite of the Civivi. Aggressive. Big. Heavy. Yes! And love that Tanto blade. (I’ve already accidentally poked myself a couple of times. And just laugh).

The best way I can describe it is “dangerous fun”.

The flipper action is a little heavy due to the meaty blade. But it’s actually hard to fail for me. My only complaint is that where your finger ends up after the flip - on the spine(?) of the knife - is a little sharp on the (G10) edges. There are only so many times I’ll use the flipper before the pad of my index finger just isn’t happy any more. But no biggie.

I’ve also never “Spidey-flicked” a knife and this has been a blast playing with that action. Again, big, heavy blade so it takes some effort for me.

If you’re looking for a small, light, gentlemen’s knife, this is not that. It will take up a good deal of real estate in your pocket.

But if you’re looking for dangerous fun, you’re on the right track.

The knife came very sharp to me. Not sure if the N690 is good, bad, or indifferent. But I’m sure it’s good for my needs.

After checking out the Damned Designs website, I’m just kind of in love with everything from this brand.

Would have given it 5☆

Would have given it 5☆ but there are a few small issues. First though let's hit the likes. Heft and feel is awesome. Knife weight just over 6ozs but is perfectly balanced. Using the flipper or wrist flipping yields a very pleasing sound as the blade clacks into place. The milled ambi clip slot is plugged and the tanto is off the charts wicked with that hard angle. Now the not so good. When the blade is opened or closed you can here something rubbing. This might resolve as it breaks in. The leading clip screw is crooked and sits up a little causing it to catch on the pocket seam. Also the clip itself is very tight and thicker pocket seams will be and issue. Lastly the blade is not centered when closed. All in all I like the knife a lot, but it's just a few minor negatives.
