World Penguin Day is celebrated each year on April 25th, a date chosen to signify the start of this flightless bird’s migratory mission. It’s only fitting to celebrate world penguin day with the knife nuts here at Kaviso – we’ve been happily migrating Kaviso x QSP Penguins into your pockets for the last 3 years. The newest members of the flock are fully featured with SuperClean Elmax steel (a first) and fresh FatCarbon Feathers: Crosscut Purple Haze and Dark Matter Glow.

ELMAX STEEL
Uddeholm Elmax SuperClean stands out as a powder metallurgy mold steel, boasting a distinctive blend of traits tailor-made for crafting knife blades, epitomizing the ethos of "less is more."
Experience fewer indentations due to its exceptional compressive strength, reduced maintenance requirements thanks to its impressive corrosion resistance, and diminished wear over time owing to its superb wear resistance.

DARK MATTER GLOW
An understated black pearl look by day, these scales are infused with a glow in the dark pigment with a magnificent green luminescence that’s both eye-catching and practical – there’s no way to lose this knife around the campsite after the sun goes down.
The glow in the dark pigment is charged by all visible and UV light (200~450nm is ideal). The afterglow intensity is strongest for the first 10 minutes (660 mcd/m2), dropping to 90 mcd/m2 after 60 minutes, and finally 5.5 mcd/m2 after 10 hours. The pigment is rated to produce a faint glow for up to 10 hours but results will vary based on the amount of light.

I already had 2 QSP Penguins... both Micarta and D2... the titanium and S35VN upgrade just made this my favorite carry... and it is under $100!?!?! might get the Mini and Plus as well. Can't wait to see other collabs Kaviso does!

This QSP Penguin is really something else. Very cool looking and every bit has been upgraded from the original. The action is flawless and buttery smooth and the blade is very sharp. 10/10

What a beautiful fantastic knife. The scales with the dark glow fat carbon are gorgeous paired with Elmax? An absolute gem of a knife. I got it on sale for $109 too which makes it even better. I highly recommend this!

The penguin is one of my favorite knives of all time. This configuration is its best yet. Soooooo smooth right out of the box, premium materials and light weight. Beautiful and practical, the best combination!
