Both Compact 3 and Compact 4 are suited perfectly for non-freestanding shelter setups, including the full range of Durston Gear X-Mid tents. The trail blazing UL legend himself, Dan Durston, relied on a pair of Compact 3’s during his record setting 1,500 mile yo-yo thru-hike of the Great Divide Trail.
While the Compact 3 is a bit lighter and can extend longer, the Compact 4 collapses smaller, making it a good alternative for those who plan to travel with their poles inside their backpack or luggage. Both feature replaceable carbide tips for traction on dirt trails and metal-reinforced, highly textured rubber tip covers for rocky trails and slippery surfaces. Along with the included baskets (35 and 50 mm), the poles can accommodate larger press-fit baskets from Fizan or other brands.

- Ghost Ranch (NM): Known for its dramatic red rock cliffs and famous as an inspiration to artist Georgia O’Keeffe.
- Grays Peak (CO): The prominent 14,276-foot fourteener is the highest summit of the Front Range and the highest point on the Continental Divide and the Continental Divide Trail in North America.
- Great Divide Basin (WY): A unique, high-elevation desert “basin” where water doesn’t flow to any ocean; it either evaporates or seeps into the ground.
- Lemhi Pass (MO/ID): Historic pass where Lewis and Clark crossed the Continental Divide. A short detour can highlight American frontier history.
- Bob Marshall Wilderness (MO): Expansive wilderness complex known for its rugged peaks, deep valleys, and abundant wildlife like elk and bighorn sheep.

They’re an excellent value if having the lightest weight hiking gear is important to you but you don’t want to pay extra for ultralight carbon fiber trekking poles... They are quite refined and an excellent value for such an exceptionally lightweight pair of trekking poles.

The Fizan Compact 3's are a great pole that is both ultralight and affordable. I've put thousands of miles on my original pair including my 1500 mile yo-yo of the Great Divide Trail. I'm excited about this design collab as it makes these poles available in the awesome sage color, honors icons along the PCT, and a portion of the price supports PCT trail building work.

The Fizan Compact 3 & 4 are some of the most compact and lightest trekking poles available and are somehow some of the cheapest as well.
Between their low weight and compact stashability, they are not far off the specs of the absolute lightest and smallest, while costing significantly less.

Poles look great. Nice PCT layering. Great quality
I ended up picking up these trekking poles after watching Dan Becker on YouTube, and wow, just wow! They’re super lightweight and the quality is excellent. You really can’t beat the value for the price. Save your money and don’t get caught up in the hype of those other “ultra-light” options—these are definitely the best bang for your buck!

Great product for the price
I got these trekking poles because Dan Becker recommended them. He was right. They are a good priced, well built light aluminum poles. I like the PCT versions because the graphics and color are cool. Same price. Definitely a good buy. More hikes to go using them.
That’s exactly what I was looking for, light weight, very easy to adjust, and stiff. Time will tell about durability.
