FLIPPER TAB STAND-OFF
We brought the flipper style option to the drawing board to put this key spec in community hands – and the results were nearly an exact 50/50 split (51/49 in favor of flipper tab). It didn’t sit right with us or designer Brian Nadeau to disappoint half of the crowd – so we decided to put both options into production.
For the first time, the Mini Tempest will feature a flipper tab option similar to other SBD models like the Typhoon, while also staying true to it’s roots via the front flipper original. It’s the best of both worlds, and only possible because of your participation. Thanks again for contributing to great knife design.

Sharp by Design’s designer Brian Neadaeu is a well known knife designing phenom, known best for his integral detent on frame lock folding knives. Kaviso (ahem) has pulled quite a few tricks from up our sleeves in the past few years, thanks in large part to community collaboration via our Drawing Board polls. SBD and Kaviso? CPM-S90V STEEL BY CRUCIBLE INDUSTRIES
A premium stainless steel alloy made in the USA by Crucible industries, S90V tops the charts for edge retention and corrosion resistance. The CPM-S90V Mini Tempest blade has a hand rubbed satin finished, a tedious process typically reserved for custom knife pieces at double the price.
