COMMUNITY DRIVEN
Kudos to all who participated in our Penguin Pivot Poll back in the spring of 2022. Following the results of that poll, we conjured up a few penguin inspired designs for QSP to test out. Through trial and error and much determination, the Penguin Pivot was born. We combined the flames of the QSP logo with our favorite black and white waddler for a Kaviso Exclusive spin on the classic pivots – because if we’re going to trick out a knife, we’re going to trick out EVERYTHING about it.

The cyan Kaviso x QSP Penguin Hardware Kit shipped promptly and came in great condition: all the anodizing was even, and all the pieces were free of defects. Unfortunately, I found that the hardware differs from normal, non-exclusive Ti framelock Penguins : the standoffs have a D-shaped end, and the pivot is *not* D-shaped but round (it uses a little notch in the head instead to stay fixed in place). Because of this difference, the kit is incompatible with normal Ti framelock Penguins despite what the product description claims.
The standoffs fit without issue as the round standoff holes in my Ti Penguin accommodated them, but there was no way for the round pivot to go through the D-shaped pivot hole (I have included pictures of the Kaviso pivot's improper fit and pictures of the stock pivot's proper fit). As such, I ended up returning the kit after kindly being helped by Dana at Kaviso.
